16 years ago today Winter the dolphin was rescued on the beach of Mosquito Lagoon entangled in a rope from a crab trap. The rope wrapped around her body and fluke. A while after her rescue Her fluke eroded away leaving her tailless . She was given a prosthetic tail which she was known for along with her inspiring story and movies. many people came to see her people with disabilities. She started a movement of hope. Unfortunately a few weeks ago on November the 11th we lost winter due to a unrecoverable twisted intestine. She will be so missed among everyone. There isn’t a day a hour a minute a second not even a moment that I don’t think about winter. She’s always on my mind everywhere i go. See you again someday winter.
