fnaf?? a sculpture?? what is happening

guys i NEED YOUR HELP;;
if you know anything about sculpting using polymer clay (i used super sculpey) PLEASE let me know how i can make the paint Not Suck and ruin everything ;o;

i decided to start with a character i like but don't care as much about, so if i ended up ruining it completely it wouldn't break my heart (and self esteem;;) as much. yes helpy and handunit are my favorite characters from the fnaf franchise leave me alone

i don't think i've ever worked so hard on anything ever. i REALLY feel like i tried everything to make it look okay;; i don't understand why using paintbrushes makes it look so streaky and horrible?? i tried thinning the acrylics with water, i tried using big blobs of paint, i tried sanding it, buffing it, i TRIED EVERYTHING
i ended up finding sponges to work quite well, except for the color white....... which is most of the figurine.... but it's still pretty texured and i don't like that ;o;

i really wanted to figure it out because if i could make THIS ONE look good, then all of my future figurines would look good as well!
i think it looks cute, but the paint is not working for me at all;;

Please Help i am Very Desperate

Not bad, especially for a first time. No way I could do that on the first 100.

Regarding the paint. Thinning it will reduce the visibility of brushstrokes, but also the ability of the paint to cover the underlying texture. Primer might help.

White shows texture the most because it reflects the most light. Using gloss also makes the texture more noticeable. Matte can hide texture, but I understand wanting it to be shiny.

That's all I know of use, but you might get more useful answers from people at a hobby or tabletop game store.

thank you! google wasn't helpful at all (all i found was people saying to "test things out until you find what works";;;), i'll try more matte acrylics and look into getting a primer, fingers crossed!

Unfortunately I have no experience yet (I'd like to try too since a long time), so I can't help you, but your first time at this is really excellent!!
