Standing outside the dorm room, Gadget was on his phone minding his own business. He still hadn't gotten used to moving away from his home, due to him moving to college. Funny thing is, he had thought he'd be alone in his dorm, but that was not the case for the poor wolf. As he heard he was having a roommate, his introvert self screeched inside. He was nervous about who it was, but he wanted to get it off his mind.
The door swung open, scaring the wolf who was outside. A tall black jackal walked out and looked at the little wolf. The jackal had a cigarette in his mouth, and Gadget shivered a bit at the sudden tone of his voice.
"Are you gonna sulk outside or unpack? Remember you don't have time to mope about," the jackal hissed. Gadget sighed, he really wasn't in the mood to deal with his attitude like that right now. He turned and looked at him.
"Sorry, I'll do it in a bit. I got a bit carried away in my thoughts," Gadget apologized. The jackal huffed, he didn't really enjoy that answer. "Uhm, in a bad mood?"
"Loads of stress…" the jackal mumbled to himself, "Anyways-"
"I know it's been about a week since I got here. Look, I'll go back inside. Just, don't- uh…" Gadget stopped, he looked at the jackal who moved closely. "Alright, alright I'll go unpack-"
Gadget felt a hand being placed on his head, he was really confused. He was really short compared to the tall jackal, but he didn't know why he was acting like this.
"Don't tell me you drank…" Gadget could smell the alcohol breath from the tall jackal before him. He knew the jackal liked to party, but it seemed the jackal was just drinking. It clicked. He hadn't seen the jackal fully drunk, so he wasn't prepared for anything from him. He only knew him for about a week by now anyways. He felt himself get picked up by the jackal, smelling the cigarette smoke. He looked away and tried to stifle a cough.
The jackal dropped the cigarette on the floor and stepped on it to extinguish it. Not even a second later, Gadget was in the dorm room and pinned onto the couch. Gadget squirmed as the tall jackal was on top of him.
"Gah! Wait! Please!-" Gadget pushed him away. "Zero!"
The jackal backed off and got up, leaving the little wolf to still be in a panic. Gadget's heart was racing, he didn't expect that.
"Why did you do that?!" Gadget yelled at him. Zero just laughed and went to close the front door. The little wolf growled and got up, heading to his own small room. He decided he would unpack a bit later, since he did not want to deal with the drunk jackal.
Little did he know, that was going to be difficult.

Setting some things aside and placing most of his college textbooks on the nightstand, the little wolf didn't notice Zero standing at the doorway. Not long after, Gadget was trying to hang up a picture, but couldn't quite reach where he had wanted it to be. The little wolf sighed and tried looking for the step stool. As he was looking, he was still trying to put it up. Nowhere to be found, he went back to trying. The little wolf was standing on his tippy toes, desperate in trying to put it up. Zero had snuck up on Gadget, grabbing the picture and helping to set it where it needed to be.
"Why would you set it so high up?" Zero teased. The little wolf huffed in anger. Gadget was so focused on trying to put it up, he didn't notice how close Zero had gotten. Gadget had stopped trying and stopped going on his tippy toes.
"I thought that would be a good place, I used the stepping stool but I can't seem to find it…" Gadget explained, embarrassed how he couldn't put up a picture. It was so simple. Zero had placed up the picture, making it look easy. Gadget crossed his arms in anger, his face flushed a light red.
"You know, you can always ask for help if you need me," Zero pet the little wolf's head.
"I wouldn't have needed your help, I could've used the stepping stool.." Gadget growled under his breath. Zero chuckled.
"Riiiiiight."
"Don't push it, I'm gonna continue unpacking. You should do the same," Gadget tried not sounding angry, but he couldn't help it. Gadget continued grabbing things out of the boxes, setting things aside to be put up later. Not long after, he noticed Zero hadn't left the room. "Aren't you going to unpack?"
"I've already finished unpacking a long time ago, I finished whilst you were moping outside," Zero explained a little harshly. Gadget rolled his eyes.
"I wasn't moping, I was lost in thought." Zero just chuckled at that. "At least can you help me?" Gadget asked.
Zero walked to Gadget, looking inside the box. The box contained all of Gadget's posters and frames.
"Oh, alright. I'll help."

While Gadget was placing some little figures on his desk, he couldn't help but look at Zero setting a framed picture up. It was once again higher than where he could reach. Although, it looked nice to him. The little wolf walked to Zero, admiring the work he had done. Zero smiled, looking at the little wolf.
"So, what do you think? Does this look good?" Zero asked, finishing it up.
"I do like it, it looks great." Gadget smiled. He then moved next to Infinite by the wall and sighed. "I think that's enough work for today," he then leaned onto the wall. Zero looked at the wolf, thinking of something to say.
"Well, wanna go make something to eat?" Zero pointed his thumb behind him and towards the door.
"Yeah, of course."
Both had left the room and headed to the kitchen. While walking in the living room, Gadget heard his phone buzz, he then grabbed it to look at it. Zero stopped, but Gadget insisted he should go by waving a hand towards him. Zero knew what he meant and nodded, heading to the kitchen.
Gadget's phone told him that someone was calling, it was his mother to be exact. He answered, putting his phone up to his ear.
"Uhm, hi mom-" Gadget was interrupted by his mother.
"Hiiiii sweetie!" Gadget moved his phone away as his ears went down. That was way too loud in his ear. He took a moment and went back to speaking to his mother.
"Hi mom," Gadget's ear was still hurting.
"Just wanted to see how you were doing, you'll be starting college so very soon!!" Gadget tried his hardest not to laugh. He knew his mom was very protective and very cautious, especially talkative, but he didn't know if Zero heard the phone. Gadget muted himself quickly and yelled at Zero.
"Hey, I'll be outside for a moment! I'll be right back!" Gadget quickly opened the front dorm door and left, still hearing Zero before he closed the door.
"Alright, I'll be cooking!" Zero smiled. And with that, Gadget closed the door.
He un-muted himself and began talking to his mother. "Yes, I know. It's coming up quickly…" Gadget sighed.
"Soooo, anyone new you met yet??" She couldn't hold it together, she was so excited to hear everything about it. Gadget chuckled.
"Well, one person, but not so much yet." Gadget didn't have a second of silence.
"Really?! Who is it? What are they like??" Gadget couldn't help but laugh at how his mother was acting.
"He's alright-" he was interrupted.
"Ooooooh~ a boy I see?" Gadget facepalmed at this. Gadget came out of the closet not too long ago, and his mother found out. Ever since then, it's been hard talking to her about other people.
"I-It's not like that mom, he's just my roommate…" That didn't help at all.
"Uh-huuuh," she teased. Gadget's fur bristled a bit and his face turned red. He pushed up his glasses.
"S-Stop teasing," Gadget growled a bit. His mother laughed.
"Alright, alright. Well I hope you have a fun time. I just wanted to know how you were doing, bye! Love you!"
"Bye, love you too mom." And with that, his mother hung up.
Gadget sighed with relief. He put his phone in his pocket and opened the door. Walking inside, he smelt the food that was already being prepared. He walked to the kitchen and saw Zero cooking.
He felt his heart skip a beat, not sure why, he walked to Zero. He assumed it was because he was excited for the food.
"That smells amazing," Gadget looked at Zero's cooking, admiring how amazing is smelt.
"Heh, it's still cooking," The jackal chuckled.
"Mhm," Gadget continued watching Zero cook.
"Who was calling you?" Zero asked. Gadget was stunned at the question for a bit, but he answered honestly.
"My mother, she just wanted to see how I was doing," Gadget grabbed out his phone and looked through it.
"Ah, I see," Zero smiled and continued cooking.
Gadget thought this wasn't going to be so bad after all. He smiled and stood next to Zero, watching him cook the food.
