BOING
OwO/ Sup! ever notice how folks want you to hold the bow in your left hand but firing a bow is much easier if you hold it in your right? i mean its crazy how its become almost an iron clad law of archery for some people then when you rock up there with your right handed bow and they be all like "WRONG!" but you manage to shoot pretty well despite it allegedly being wrong and they go into that humpherphump pout they do...

Speaking of using wargear wrong, I don't think her nose guard will be all that useful. XD

i wonder if i should do a furgonomics version with it extended.

"Furgonomic" changes to historical armour is something I really like the idea of. It's interesting to consider what you might have to do differently when the shape of the face changes, especially for earlier-period armour (plate armour would be pretty straightforward - anyone who can make barding can make a full helm for an anthro).

the muzzle is pretty straigh forward as there was actually those bascinets with the dog faces IRL. the thing that trips me up is usually the ears. i mean you can make little metal ear doodads but those would be terribly inpractical as it would catch a weapon like a pair of horns or something. the other option would be to just make holes for the ears to poke out but that would also be a bad idea for obvious reasons. but yea the furgonomics for armor is something ive been taking a huge interest in lately.

Backsweep the metal ears. It'll be a big uncomfy, but better than losing an ear. A nose piece would come down over the entire muzzle and make a little spoon or beak shape over the actual nose so you can still smell but no one can chop your entire muzzle off with a lucky strike.

thats a good term, folks should use it more. <///< i embarasingly once thought when people were talking about leftists they mean left handed folks. i was really starting to ponder at the meaning of the strange correlation between political opinions and what hand people use before i caught on.

The truth is even sadder: Being left-handed has long been regarded as something akin to disease, something to be admonished for, or a sign of evil (sin means  without & left in Latin, ie: "sinister" means "left-handed" and "dexter" means "right-handed"). I've personally been treated badly, particularly by Catholics, as late as the early 1980s, just for being left-handed, and I know of similar admonishments as late as the 1990s.

Owo thats so strange, i mean i can understand folks being that silly in the 1800s but in modern times? then again people have consistently maintained their capacity for superstition even to this day. i had no idea this was even a thing, its actually pretty interesting and i may use it to spice up my writing lore in future UwU/ thanks for sharing this with me.

Anyone that thinks that holding the bow in your right hand is always wrong doesn't know what they're talking about.  While it primarily depends on which hand is dominant, some right handed people still prefer to shoot south paw.  There's nothing wrong about which hand to use, you just have to know how to shoot using that hand.

i can use both hands but it feels much better in my right hand, especially for the heavier draw weights.

As I understand it, right-hand dominant people are most comfortable holding the bow in the left hand because, the right hand/arm has to work harder, and is typically stronger for right handed people. In the left/non-dominant hand, the bow is pressing back against the hand, and this requires fewer muscle groups or exertion to keep steady. The right arm is bent, and the string is pulling away from the hand, against the fingers, necessitating more effort.

Obviously do whatever is most comfortable for you, but I'd say that for 95+% of people, that's going to be holding the bow in the non-dominant hand.

i have a funny way of drawing a bow that involves extending the bow forward instead of drawing the arrow back. this allows me greater accuracy in a quick shot as the arrows back end is always at the same spot and since you extend the bow towards where you wana shoot its like aiming with your arm instead of your eye like when you would throw something.

tho i "learned" how to shoot a bow by messing around with a DIY bow as a kid so i prolly do lotsa stuff wrong... but i mean i get the arrow where it needs to be just fine.
