Ulrik decided to hold on to Cubbi for a while to give everyone a moment to think…
“Welcome to page life, Cubbi. First off you should know that no one likes a wiseacre and sarcasm might not be as funny as you think. Understood?"
"I apologize unreservedly." Cubbi said. "My comments were hurtful and out of line."
"You're very cute, now shut up. Second off, you are now the LOWEST ranked boy here! So, Listen up! You have ONE month to prove that you belong here. And it is going to be the worst month of your life. You will be up at 4 a.m. You will here ready to train. You cannot miss a single day of training and you have only Sundays off. You must do EVERYTHING I say when I say it. If you can’t keep up you will be asked to leave… and leave you shall and never come back. Got that?” Ulrik shook the boy gently.
“I understand.” said Cubbi.
“Excellent” Ulrik exclaimed with great relish. “Let’s see just how awful you really are.”
“Well, it’s probably going to be more of the same.., um, would it be possible to get put down? All this new pressure is going to my eye.” Cubbi said, wincing a little.
Writer’s Note: We don’t want to make it too serious… I mean, it’ll get more serious when it needs to.
