Earlier this year, I decided to make a soundtrack for He Is My Master, the greatest Sonadow story I've ever read. The problem was, the only Sonic music I knew was from Ultimate Flash Sonic. So I spent the next few months exploring the enormous world of Sonic music, both for additional inspiration and to make sure I wasn't making a soundtrack that felt completely out of place. And here we are! I'm content with the selection of stuff in this piece, and I think it sounds passable (I'm a music composer, but not much of a music producer yet, so it doesn't sound great). I probably would've finished this a lot sooner if I didn't spend most of that time trying to make a Crush 40-style theme song for the movie but getting nowhere. Eventually I decided to focus on this instrumental action suite for the movie instead, aiming for something like "The World Adventure (Orchestral)" from Sonic Unleashed. The only parts of this that I didn't compose are: The main theme from Sonic Sat AM (composed by Michael Tavera), and part of "Great Megalith" (composed by Tommy Tallarico) from Sonic and the Black Knight. I used the Sat AM theme because it's so generally awesome, and because it's surprisingly versatile, and because I kinda see it as the musical theme of the comics that Taranea loves so much, and because I coincidentally improvised a nearly identical theme a very long time ago that I would've wanted to use anyway. I used the Great Megalith theme because it just screamed "medieval action music!" more so than any other track from Sonic and the Black Knight (which Taranea drew inspiration from while writing He Is My Master), and because it seemed to fit well with the rest of the ideas I wanted to put in this piece. This is the first bit of music I've shared with the world in years, so if you give it a listen, will you please tell me what you think?
