Character Description
Vanasium is one of the Overlords of Hell. Known as the Painting Demon or the Portrait Demon, he's the best painter known to Hell. Being based off of the image of the cursed artist, he's very skilled in drawing crude, horryifying death scenery and graphic deaths using the blood of his victims. Aside that, he can also bend fire and light to his will, using the latter to create illusions, but his most well known ability is that of shape-shifting into anyone he desires, going so far as to imitate their voice and clothes, which has given him the moniker of the Thousand-Faces Demon. His trickery and intellect is not to be underestimated either, being among the smartest demons in Hell.
Personality
He is described by Lucifer as “a self-centered, vain, power-hungry maniac obsessed with stealing my throne”. Vanity and self-centeredness have always been part of his personality, even when he was alive. He believes himself to be the best thing ever born, has a very high regard for himself and is very proud of his abilities and his appearance, often calling himself "the fantastic, the beautiful, the brilliant Painting Demon". His character is considered very annoying and excessively eccentric by the other Overlords, even if they acclaim him for his immense artistic talent, but he is fine with that, preferring by far the solitude to the company of other demons. He thinks he is the best choice to dominate Hell and is willing to do everything to oust Lucifer, even if more than reigning he is only interested in proving that he is better than everyone else. He's also slightly childish and easy to anger, hiding his weaknesses behind his vain act, but he's still very dangerous.

Background/History
Vanasium arrived in Hell more or less at the same time as Lucifer. The future Painting Demon, in life, was a very renowned and self-centered artist, constantly competing with another artist much more skilled and famous than himself, and was executed when he was caught killing people to get their blood, the ideal pigment to create a more vivid painting according to him. Lucifer was impressed by Vanasium's abilities, but at first the demon didn't want to have anything to do with the young king. But Van changed his mind when Lucifer saved his life from a Sinner who was one of the painter's victims in life. Grateful to the Demon Lord, Vanasium became his best friend and together they worked to try to make Hell better, Lucifer even gave Vanasium the role of the first Overlord in the history of Hell and taught him how to manipulate light while Vanasium gave him painting upon painting, for the first time in his life he could think of someone else than himself and he liked it.
The two were inseparable, at least until Lilith entered Lucifer's life, unleashing a dangerous jealousy in Vanasium towards the succubus, fearing that Lucifer would replace him with her. This jealousy increased when Lucifer, going against his friend's advice considering them senseless, married Lilith. This caused a break in the friendship between Lucifer and Vanasium, the latter accusing the former of not wanting to listen to him and that, since he was the King, he secretly looked down at him. Lucifer was very saddened, since for him that friendship was sincere, and tried several times to reconnect with him, even inviting him to dinner at his home, a great honor for many demons. However, Lucifer's attempt was ruined when he learned, in front of Vanasium, that Lilith was pregnant. This made the Painting Demon feel even more excluded, thinking that Lucifer intended to replace him with the unborn child, and just left without saying a word. The next night, Van sneaked into his ex-friend's house and tried to kill Lilith with the baby in her lap, but was stopped by Lucifer. The two friends quarreled violently, even going so far as to fight, but despite Vanasium's tricks and strategies, it was Lucifer who prevailed.
Crying the only sincere tears of his entire life, Vanasium again accuses Lucifer of having deceived him with the prospect of a sincere friendship (something that the Painting Demon was desperately seeking even without knowing it) just to exploit his talent. Lucifer, also in tears seeing what his friend had lowered himself to in pursuing a senseless paranoia, orders him never to get close to him or his family again, or he would be forced to take severe measures against him, officially destroying their friendship and sealing their future rivalry. Despite this, Lucifer decided to give Vanasium's human name, Charles, to his newborn, who turned out to be a girl which made her parents change the name to Charlotte, in a last attempt to keep the memory of the good times past with him. Vanasium instead took refuge in one of the quarters of Hell and took control of it, erecting his atelier there and surrounding himself with imp servants and demons at his service, plotting from that day on to oust Lucifer, not considering him suitable for the role of King anymore, and sinking again and deeper than ever into his abyss of self-centeredness, his only salvation from feeling the immense sadness of having lost his best friend
World/Setting
He lives in his own atelier, surrounded by his imp servants and his mirrors, which cover all he walls and even the ceiling.
Body
He's 7 foot tall and very thin. His head is a bluish-white will-o-wisp with flaming bluish-white eyes and is detached from the rest of his body.
Clothing
He wears a light brown and black vest with a red V at the center of his back over a white shirt, brown trousers and dark brown and black shoes
Accessories
He usually wears a bordeaux hat (he's never been seen without) and a red papillon
