This was done because the song fit so well. Don't get the wrong idea. Dipper and Bobby are both 12. Bobby may be gay, Dipper is not (obviously, since he fell for Susan), which is why he is afraid to tell Bobby that he loves him, lest people get the wrong idea.
its good to tell someone you love them theres so many kinds of love, theres friendship, brotherly, lustful, family, lover, casual, intimate, plutonic, and gay kind of love too but I think dipper loves and admires bobby cause he is a good friend and that's a brotherly love dipper is probably scared of he means one kind of love and others or bobby thinks it is another kind of love, it is natural to feel that like how I admire and love staticmunk, radion is such a sweet guy he taught me to draw and enjoy painting too I love him with all my heart in many many ways but mostly admiration and brotherly love I have for him and oooo to be hugged by him is such a happy experience.
