On top an unassuming rooftop in the Musuba province, adventurous red panda Guiying pondered her predicament. She had spent a lot to make her long expedition to retrieve the stolen family heirloom, and while successful, the realisation that she’d also need money to make the journey back finally dawned on her. Perhaps her teacher was right to call her impulsive. But she quickly dismissed those thoughts as she decided improving her character flaws should come after solving her monetary issues. The red panda’s blue eyes fell on the luxurious mansion further outside the town, the residence of daimyo Wakaida Aisika. Surely, she wouldn’t miss a few coins to fund her return trip. She would make her move tonight.
In the training room of a hidden dojo, Guiying pondered her predicament. As she should’ve expected she got jumped by Aisika’s kunoichi, hogtied and brought before the cunning feudal lady. She had try to plead with her, but only got a large wad of fabric stuffed into her mouth, bound in place by a tightly wrapped scarf. “Hush, little Guying, let finish explaining~” Aisika purred at the panda in peril. “I do admit to feeling a little guilt at having unwittingly purchased your stolen heirloom. Therefore I want to make you an offer: you will work for me as a spy and secret bodyguard until after the next winter. In exchange I shall fund however much you need for the journey to your homeland. My ninjas shall train you in the meantime which is a reward of it’s own~” The devious daimyo gently lifted her captive’s face to meet hers. “What do you say, little Guiying~?” The red panda thought briefly, but quickly realised she, of course, could only answer in quiet mumbling.
Aisika chuckled, amused her prisoner fell for the trick, simple as it was. “You may give your answer after I remove your gag, which will not be for a while~” She glanced at her loyal ninjas. “I have yet to punish you for attempting to break into my estate a second time~”
