It's quite the adventure but worth the hardships.

The Varia Suit *is* basically a suit of Power Armor, though, obviously *far more advanced* than anything ever fielded by the United States in the Fallout universe; the Chozo possessed technology so advanced that, in accordance with Clarke's Third Law, some of it was *indistinguishable from magic*. If the Chozo's interactions with the Reptilicans of Bryyo are any indication, it is probable that the Chozo themselves *could* wield magic or the equivalent force there-of in the Metroid universe, which might explain how certain instances of their technology seem to defy the established laws of physics, such as the Varia Suit itself; the Galactic Federation's attempt at reverse-engineering the Varia Suit technology have invariably produced large, unwieldy mech suits, which are extraordinarily similar in design to Fallout Power Armor, with all the obvious drawbacks thereof. And the Space Pirates' attempts at reverse-engineering the Morph Ball function ended in terrible failure; all test subjects were horribly and, presumably fatally, mutilated as a result.
