An animation? OOH AAH!

This was made a few months after the tickling themed pieces I uploaded just a few minutes ago with the same model. But now I've made her move in my first ever biped walk cycle. It I need to work a little harder to make sure everything that needs to move does move. There are a couple bits and pieces (mostly around the elbow joints) that I didn't move properly which has led to some very subtle snapping of the arms as they swing back. I also need to spend some more time working with the tangent lines to make the movements a little more natural. But, all in all, I am happy with how this came out.

That's a good start. Definitely better than my first walk cycle :P It might look better if you make her walk on her toes (if the rig works properly then, can't remember how I set it up)  since the foot is so long that it looks a bit "floppy" when walking like that but I guess that works too. Also don't forget to move the pelvis / hips to sides as she moves her weight from side to side. Also the upper body is a bit stiff. you could perhaps rotate her upper body a bit as well. (a bit to front and maybe slightly along Z axis as well.) And I guess the walking pace could be a bit faster as it looks a bit slow right now. But really nice to see someone else doing something with the model. Looking forward to seeing more :)

Thanks! Glad you think so.

Hm, yeah. I didn't even think about the pelvis. Moving the pelvis would probably make the tail swaying look a bit more natural too. I should probably get a few references next time. I'll definitely try to do what you've suggested in my next attempts.

Np. Pelvis and the hips as well. I think there should be separate bone for that. But I may remember it wrong. Yeah it would make the tail movement more natural as well.  Yep references are really helpful for all kind of animating. I highly recommend using those. I should do it more myself. Plenty of good stuff on youtube.

Yep. There are bones for both, as well as several parts of the torso. I'd fiddle around and practice now, but the neighbors are having a rather loud party next door, and I just can't focus on anything.

Alright. Well hopefully they will shut up soon enough :P But have fun with learning Blender. There's a lot to learn but it's rather nice tool for many different things.

Heh, yeah. I've spent the last ten minutes mindlessly sliding a cube back and forth on the X axis.
