She's been known to take war trophies of defeated opponents, it would look nice hanging in her cockpit

I had plenty of reference material to work with. Her pilot uniform and name bleeds Russian. Knowing geography and biology, it makes perfect sense for her to be an East Siberian brown bear. Also, some of the style points seem to pay homeage to WW2 era Spetsnaz uniforms. Why wouldn't she calmly snag my dog tag as a souvenir for allowing me to pet her? LOL!

Yeah, I actually based Tanya off the Russian Kamchatka bear. so you were right on the east Siberian bear thing.I made more of a Russian-like appearance. I prefer Tanya to be Russian-like in a dieselpunk scifi future fictional world setting.

Her outfit and colors I did  base for a more soviet-like appearance  and I always had a thing for olive drab military uniforms. Infact her most recent outfit, on her jacket she does have the word "spetsnaz" on her insignia. I do need to consider using her old outfit sometime as I still have some fondness for it

Tanya is a mech and plane mechanic/pilot (her preferred roles) but I did make her a special forces commando should she be assigned for more special covert operations. She was literally born for combat and trained as a special weapon/hero of her faction.

As for petting her, I don't know. she isn't too fond of being petted from strangers but a shiny trinket like that will do for a moment of lowering her guard for just a bit. Not as fun as taking down and taking it though.

That's, alright. Vulpines and felines are my preferences. But when I saw her, my first thought was "Bear hunts you!" With a thick Eastern European accent...

It's a good thing that she doesn't live in Neal Harper's dimension. He's a heavily OP character who would prefer to take a backseat in the current wars, unless something starts killing the soldiers under him. That's when he brings the wars to an abrupt halt by freezing time and killing every single enemy in the battlefield... much to his human soldiers' annoyance for robbing them of their fights.

Have you put much thought into her mech's inner workings and capabilities?

The closest to OP Tanya has is basically regeneration. Kind of like Wolverine. She gets hurt, her body regenerates but I like to think depending how severe the injury, it could tire her out and she'd have to retreat and recuperate.

I have not put too much thought on her mech other than bipedal movement with hoverjets. Maybe something similar to Titanfall where it has Ai control and only she is able to pilot it and it can fight along side her. I cant imagine she uses it as much unless its an expeditionary force sent in unknown territories or a ground assault. Most of the time she's in the sky or doing ground operations on foot. Or very simple jobs like transporting soldiers/crew/equipment. To keep her from being inactive too long in the air flagship

Nice.

Enter: Neal Edwynn Harper.
Born human
After getting lost on his property, he readies his camera to get landscape shots of the surrounding areas in hopes of finding his way back home.

However, he's surprised to see a creature, seemingly straight out of a cross of Japanese and Greek mythology.
Seeing a foxtaur on the cliff softly crying. He takes several photos and manages to max out 2 SD cards.

After she brushed her hair, she laid the brush on a rock and stands up.

Despite her not being human, Neal recognized the intent of her expression. He broke into a hard run and dove, catching her right rear leg just as it cleared the ground...

She is his wife, Jasper Belle Harper. Formerly and simply Jasper Snowpaw.

It happened to be that she was from a future timeline and the communicator that was still in her possession was modular enough to contact the planet from which it originated. This event disrupted the current timeline enough to get the attention of a Lynark, named Nico Rhouphys Lynn, who operates an interdimentional police agency.

Instead of simply repairing the timeline, he takes Neal back to just after he caught Jasper. Cloaking him, Neal takes the comm from Jasper's pouch and goes to regroup with Nico, only to find hisself restraining Jasper on the cliff again. With the disrupted timeline having been dealt with in close proximity to his past self, his future self's conscience was transferred and he had to start over. The lack of the communicator caused a major swing back to a more stable timeline.

However, Neal's cousin David was dating the president at the time and was able to get her to perform a national press release for Jasper. After reminding everyone of the tragedies found at area 51, she made it seem as if Jasper was a survivor and granted her full U.S. citizenship and also named her as an important enough individual for the Secret Service to protect.

After the press release, a car full of armed men ran their van off of the road, engaging in a firefighting Secret Service agents, as well as Neal, wishing to be invisible as he was when he nabbed the comm, using his 28 gauge revolver with quick-change cylinders.

After the firefight, agents were looking for Neal who called out and appeared, seemingly out of thin air.

When questioned about it, Nico answered that he'd granted Neal with the ability while shielding Jasper from gunfire.

Nico asked Neal if he wanted the gunshot wound in his thigh to heal naturally or let him heal the wound in seconds.

It's no surprise what route Neal chose, though he wasn't expecting to get bitten to be healed.

He suddenly felt very warm and promptly passed out.

What nico had done was inject his blood, including white blood cells and stem cells, into Neal.

A Lynark doesn't have DNA or RNA their genome is both. Which was all it took to change Neal Harper into a Lynark.

Check out my page on wikifur. Just search Lynark. I'll continue updating it as I remember details I'd forgotten

Usually, when I edit an artwork, I make floofy. This one...
Only eyes, lighting, dialog and my dog tag.

I'm getting new dog tags with my Groom Lake ID#.
