Ohh, so many details! The illustration you made here looks amazing! (☞゚∀゚)☞
How long does it take for you to make one?

Heya buddy!  Thanks!  This one took me somewhere in the range of 1-1.5 hours!  Normally they take me closer to the hour range (inking), but this one took me a bit longer because of how incredibly tired I was while doing it lol!

The piece for today is going to be my favorite by far (thus far), if I can get the amount of detail down that I’m hoping!

If you give me 1 hour I can totally... have done nothing XD . I really admire those artists that can work in the traditional ways :D . I just hope you are not overdoing yourself for the Inktober.

I will totally be taking a look at your next work!

Lol, it just takes a lot of patience and practice!! Anyone can draw if they have the steadfast willpower to continue to push to learn ^.^.

I usually just do these after work, or whenever I make some free time in the day!

In my opinion, i think every artist should work, and learn traditionally first before moving onto digital!  It’s the fundamentals, foundation, building blocks, whatever you’d like to call it to build on!  Without a solid foundation, you can only get so far (imo), so I always stress the importance of traditional skills to everyone!!

It's been a couple of decades that I decided not to try anything traditional unless it is just to sketch ideas (which only some of them are posted here because I don't want them to be associated to my main account), the rest is made on digital, but some principles still apply! Like having the willpower to do so :) .

After work? I can totally understand then! It surely has to be extremely relaxing for you.

What I will not do in traditional are things like inks, but I know what you mean and that is why I sketch on paper, not only to learn more things like proportions and such, but also to stay  a bit away from the pc monitor.

Lol that’s understandable for sure! I feel my best stuff is traditional, but then again, I’ve been doing that forever and only started with the digital in… 2016?2017? One of those two!

Yup!  I work in construction, so it’s nice to come home and (usually after working around the house) just sit down and take a load off lol.  I don’t have internet at my house yet, so I just use my phone - it’s really nice to not have the computer screen to stare at for a while!  Ya really do feel so much better after a few weeks without it!

If you like sketching in traditional, but not permanent stuff like ink, you should give charcoal a try!! I don’t have the charcoal stuff I’ve done on here bc upload regulations, but it’s a VERY forgiving medium that you can make amazing stuff with in bery little time!! I believe i have my charcoal stuff on my Deviant art account though! I think there’s a link to it on my page here!

I've been doing little bits here and there, but it is the same with me doing some more things only in recent years. I do have ideas for stories so I'd like them to be told one day.

I make most practice sketches before going to sleep, I actually have a little table so I can do that instead of the bed, hehehe, but I think we can both agree it is good to be able to have the means no matter when the inspiration strikes!

I might consider it but no promises! You do have a DA account, so am I under a very different name XD ... I might go take a visit there too ;)

Man, writing the stories to my characters is so ungodly time consuming!  I wish there was more time in a day!  It’s so rewarding, but man… it’s just so hard to get anywhere when you’re limited by the hours in a day :p. I wish you the absolute best of luck with it, for it IS a SUPER rewarding experience if you can manage the time!!

I agree! Having a way to pop something down when ya get an idea is SO nice!  I usually just end up writing a little bit in a notepad on my phone, as I don’t ever have the time to sketch it down, even with circles and lines for characters!  (I got quite the list going lol…)

Lol! No worries! Just a suggestion!  Walmart has a really good quality charcoal set from “General’s” brand for $20!  If you’re able to grab that and a piece of paper (I like grey paper personally) meant for charcoal, you’ll be set for super cheap!  The set lasts for YEARS!

Thank you very much! And for you too. My only main issue is that it is very hard for me to find names I like for my characters.

I've been forgetting ideas over the years only because I had nothing nearby to write those down, so I am trying not to allow that to happen again... with a questionable rate of success though XD .

I'll think about it but for now I'll have to stick with my good-old mechanical pencil ^_^' .

That makes perfect sense!  Naming a char is what I struggle with a lot too lol!  Eventually though something just comes along and sticks!

I realllllllly like mechanical pencils!  Idk if I like them MORE than just the regular HB pencil, but man they are super nice simply because of the no sharpening thing!  I usually keep a separate eraser with mine so I don’t wear down the tiny one they come with lol!

That is indeed true, I just wish the process of getting a name would go smoother though! ^_^'

Hahahahaha, we are 2 then! I always have a proper and separate eraser... and get mad at whoever uses the tiny one XD .
