This art piece is a fictionalized scenario of a real battle that is still being fought.
Honor the heroes: Doctors, nurses, and other frontline workers; many of whom have given their lives.
Do your part. Wear a mask. Get vaccinated if you are eligible and your health permits you to do so.
Here we see Milo and Danielle's mother Rebecca taking a quick break after hours of treating Covid patients in the Emergency Room. It's the latest day in a seemingly endless number of days where she has felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and burned out from the nonstop flood of infections, admissions, and sadly deaths. Furthermore, looking at pictures of Milo and Danielle helps, but at the same time also brings more pangs of sadness to her: Milo and Danielle have been living with their father full-time for the past year, at her insistence for their safety. She misses them greatly, of course. She clings to what seems to be a final string of hope that things will get better, but knows we're not out of the woods just yet.
Thank you to all who have been on the frontlines of the battle against Covid-19 for the past year and a half. Your efforts are incredibly appreciated and acknowledged. There are a great number of people out here still rooting for you all.
