Phew. This one I've had in the works for a lil while but I'd just kept getting distracted Well it's finally done now. Yep the nerdy Liger's done a new alternate human species. hehe. As always with new species we get a Codex entry on the species and then info on the character himself. The two outfits on the right are his uniform and flight suite/armor.

The Hudar are a hominid species related to humans. While sharing many common features the Hudar have evolved along differing evolutionary lines. Their ancestors were along with it sees a viable population of millions of species were transported from Earth to the Hudar homeworld of Castia approximately 7 million years ago. Little remains of the species which seeded Castia with life from Earth. The Hudar only have a single out post buried under the ice sheet of Castia's northern continent to work from.

Hudar differ from humans physiologically in several key ways. First and most notably are their legs. Hudar evolved digigrade bipedalism. This mutation seemed to have occurred early on in their evolutionary history. Their digigrade stands makes them taller, faster, and most of all quieter. The last of which lead to the second difference which during the day is not as noticeable. Due to their quite steps the Hudar had an easier time sneaking up on their prey. While still primarily diurnal they eventually adapted to hunting at dusk and into the night and have developed night vision. The last Major biological difference is the shape of the Ear. It contains stronger cartilage and is smoothed in with the curves of the skull allowing Hudar markedly better hearing.

From a sociological and historical standpoint the Hudar are at times similar to humans and at other times drastically different. Hudar have had a history of waring nation states for a good deal of their ancient history. As they progressed technologically more and more of the nation states merged to form Larger nations. At the dawn of their nuclear age there were three super power nations on their world. Two of which were a Theocracy for all intent and purposes. A third nation was Neutral, two others which were more secular. One of the later was also the most advanced military power on the planet having pioneered at that point the first translations of their word's second hominid race. The aquatic Mer. When nuclear technology was discovered three of the nations decided to regulate it's use with one Theocratic power sitting on the fence. The other Theocratic power however ceased what it saw as Opportunity. With the belief that an almighty deity was on their side and a mandate to convert or kill non believers they instigated a nuclear war starting with an attack on their rival Theocratic power. The war lasted 3 months in total and resulted in the death of 2/3rd of their global population with fall out and aftermath included. The war ended with the Capital of the instigating nation being reduced to rubble which over 3 centuries later was still lethally radioactive.

In the aftermath of the War the Militaristic power began aide programs to try and restore order to their world. After only 2 decades of talks with surviving governments they formed a global government. The Castia Imperial Republic. The upper echelons of their government is organized in a more military way with a board of Admirals which make major Decisions and the Grand Admiral who heads the group and has final say on military actions. Though as a republic there is an elected body which forms and presents laws and deals with the day to day governance task. The Admiral Board typically follows the lead of the Representative Body.

Since the end of the War the Hudar have become FTL capable and a prominent power in their region of the galaxy. This said however the invention of FTL drive was not the product of the Hudar. It's inventor was instead one of the second species. The Mer, who had shared a friendly working relation with the Hudar since ancient times but had only managed to more fully integrate with the advent of modern sonar technology as the Mer's native language is in sounds which are beyond Hudar hearing.
