in this case its actualy shrinking, shes suprresing her power, forcing it down and burrying it inside of her, this actualy weakens her power most likely and given how strong she is requires constant focus to maintain, but it allows her to interact with the magicly sensative or the weak without harming them, i suspect shes going to try to help sweetie belle but as sweetie is already hurt from exposure to one overcharged aura she wants to make sure she doesnt do more harm then good
