I just want to test out coloring. My first full coloured illustration. I took a dark color palete and tried to shade where I thought it looked right.
I really want to do nice and detailed backgrounds, it sure does make the characters pop out more. The train part took up a bulk because I could not get it looking correct, it still does not look correct but I’m really tired now so that’s the best I can do with the current skill level.

This took way too long, my target will be first improving on full color illustrations and shading, and then speeding up my workflow to make each piece under 3 hours.
Other than that, quick comic sketches will refine my base illustrations and shapes and I hope to churn one rough sketch every 30mins with minor clean up.

Learn>improve>master>speed up.
That’s the course of action I will take.

They say 10k hours for mastery of a skill, at least that’s the common quote from Malcom Gladwell’s book Outliers. It is proved to be completely false but still a rule of thumb, who knows when I’ve had enough. 1K hours? or maybe I’ll even last till 5K. Well I have 10 years to spare.
