To avoid bid sniping, bids posted in last hour get an additional 2 hour countdown from last highest bid's posting. Once latest highest comment passes 2 hours without reply, bids are over.

Basically your first comment started a countdown. Once it's been there for 24 hours the bids for that character are over. UNLESS people try bid sniping in the last hour. Then it's a 2 hour countdown from latest active bid. Once a bid is there for 2 hours without response, it's over.
