We get to love our own characters to the point they are really alive to us.
I don't know how many this have happened this to, but sometimes they even make decisions that we think are out of our control.
It's like they're painting themselves.

I've definitely had characters who felt as if they were watching over my shoulder, telling me what they want to do and what they don't want to do. And get pouty if I don't give them enough attention.

It's a very cute picture, but I can't help but wonder if it tickles to draw your own feet.

Most writers of note will tell you that they're not writing stories about their characters as their characters are telling THEM about the adventures THEY'VE*the characters* have had!

I know first hand because a story I wanted to write one way was changed because my characters didn't like it the way I had it and 'convinced' me to change it. It actually worked out for the better in my opinion. That's when you know you're characters are REAL and ALIVE. It's a neat feeling when it happens actually. :D

Kai is doing what I think most of us wished we could do at least one point in our lives. I hope he's going really slow and methodical... to look that cute requires you to take your time and not rush things. :3
