Been a while since I made one, but here's a new OC of mine, a villain for the PPG series, I call her Mad Madam Mime.
Originally known as Miranda Medford, she started her career as a performer around the same time as Rainbow the Clown, and like the colorful jester, rose to be one of Townsville's top entertainers. UNLIKE Rainbow, however, she used her skills for something else besides simply entertaining people. Something despicable. Miranda would actually use her act as a front for an ongoing strain of serial pickpocketing. Wallets, watches, cell phones, jewelry, even pocket change from children! For years, though, she never got caught, as she was just as skillful at hiding her ill-gotten gains as she was at stealing them. But one night she got careless and left the window of her trailer open. As a result, she was caught red handed tallying her stolen goods, unbeknownst to her, by none other than Rainbow, himself. After the police were informed and arrived to arrest her, she was quickly apprehended trying to flee. Upon her incarceration she ended up having her performance license permanently revoked and was forced to serve 3 years in prison.
During her time behind bars, she spent most of her free time in the facility's library, and in there she discovered a most unusual book. One dismissed by the guards and fellow inmates as nothing but a bunch of voodoo witchcraft nonsense, but to Miranda it was something more... MUCH more. This book was the first step... to getting her REVENGE ON TOWNSVILLE. Thanks to this book she had learned of a strange art of magic, known simply as "Mimus," this magic actually enabled her to do IN REAL LIFE what she had always pretended to do in her performances. Upon release once her sentence was over, she decided to use these newfound skills to become a super villain. Miranda Medford was no more, and Mad Madam Mime was born.
What is an example of these powers, you may ask? Well, say for instance she's miming holding a gun? Well, now instead of pretending to shoot you, she can ACTUALLY shoot you with it. As in >bang!< You're a goner. If she mimes you in a cage? Well, you're now trapped inside of one. If she can think it, she can make it.
The catch? In order to actually use her newfound powers, she's not allowed to say anything, and should she ever break that rule, her powers will disappear. But due to some connections she made while in prison with a certain big brained monkey, she had a device created that is attached to the choker around her neck. It's a speaker that enables her to talk, without actually talking, thus not going against the terms necessary for her powers to work. It works similarly to the device Vincent Price's character uses in The Abominable Dr. Phibes, only instead of a phonograph it's, again, the speaker in her choker.
She also has one other power, but can only do it sparingly each day, as overusing it drains her vitality (a lesson she had to learn the hard way in one of her earliest capers upon taking up this new moniker). That power is to convert victims into mimes, themselves, with varying degrees, ranging from merely being unable to speak (a way of hiding her tracks) to brainwashing and recruiting them as minions, complete with similar powers to her own. Should she lose her powers, however, her grip on them will be lost as well, and they will return to their former selves. Thus far she has about 8 lackeys, and that number might start growing, unless our heroes, the Powerpuff Girls have anything to say about it!
