or those of you who have never been to Disneyland, or for those of you who blow right through Main Street, you may not be aware of a shop there called Fortuosity (previously known as New Century Timepieces). This shop features artwork from numerous Disney artists, that get transformed into watches.

Normally you browse through the portfolio of the artist who is working in the shop that day, and if something catches your eye, you can purchase a hand pained replica of the art piece with a lovely timepiece to go along with it. However, as my good friend

explained to me, once in a great while the artists are able to take custom commissions... and we just happened to get lucky during our trip to Disneyland over Presidents' Day weekend in 2011.

The artist in the shop that day was a gentlemen by the name of Eric Scales, and we both fell in love with his art. I ran some ideas for a Gargoyles themed art piece by him and he gladly accepted the challenge.

The whole process took about 4 months (mostly due to the amount of approval involved), but I couldn't be happier with the finished product! If you're lucky enough to be at the park on a day Eric is working, you will find this piece in his portfolio among many other great watch designs.

Ah yes. Dave Smith did my Don Karnage watch. Always nice when you can land something like that, isn't it? Very nicely done.
