Eh, that has been the case since forever. The authorities are just more able to enforce social norms now thanks to everybody's computers being lowjacked and every spy agency in twenty-four countries being integrated. Perhaps more importantly, entertainment companies are enjoying a lower rate of profit than they had in the past, which has encouraged them to gain as much control over the dissemination of ideas as they possibly can in order to protect their respective market shares. Still, "free speech" has never been a real thing anywhere. It is a liberal myth.
