You need to improve some, honestly- try using fewer straight lines, and work more with circles. You should find a few tutorials on how to draw cartoon-style characters online, then you might get higher visibility.
There are several 2D scancodes around- Datamatrix is second only to QR in popularity, right now, and QR is everywhere.

QR: I've been following the 2D barcode revolution for the last 12 years, and yes, it is one of the coolest matrix codes out there! :) There are a few others, like shotcode (looks like shots in a bullseye), and some taking a "3D" approach- using course to stack data. :) I have somewhere a QR avatar I used to use on FA, done in lime & purple. Was my first avatar on FA back in '07. :)
