Disturbingly on point.  So many politicians doing and saying things out of fear of violence from a small but psychotic groups.

I hope she didn't die.
But she's stuck forever in eternal pain.

fortunately people like this come to a nasty end. some times they are found out.. other times they are actually raped and tortured to death... but Carma has Nasty Big Pointy Teeth.. look at his mom and dad and the attorneys all still cant believe what just happened...

Wow, that judge is a coward pushover.

Just did a quick search.
I may not be a lawyer nor living in the US, but he could've easily just showed the photos publicly and order the police to arrest them all.
Since threatening a judge is considered obstruction of justice, it's a federal crime and they would've got 10 years minimum.
That is, provided that this is a US-like justice system.

So... yep. He is.

Exactly what I was thinking. But I think the other girl is so "popular" and with sway that they would get crazy idiots to attack his family.

Thats the only logical thing I can make out of this coward judge.

And I just realized something else.
These "supporters" literally just threatened a government official to get the outcome they want.

Which means that, if they aren't completely brain dead, they are fully aware she's lying.

... But giving them a brain would be giving them too much credit, would it?

I do not think the activists believe in the kid. Remember, this has happened in real life as well. Literal mobs believed an individual to the point of making them suicide despite them being innocent. The power of popularity is a real threat and some of them could ignore the need for evidence out of blind fanboyism.

There are people for example.. who are still defending Amber despite evidence that she was the abusive one in the Johnny Depp relationship despite a ton of evidence released.
Same that other "popular" characters were given Charte blanque to literally create crusades against the people they despise.
Hell... even here in the furry community, this has happened before.. when a popufur decides she/he dislikes a person and sends their rabidfanbase against someone else.

Sorry for not being clear.

There are news detailing full mobs hunting an innocent person. Where a bunch of angry racists folks believed in a fake rape or harassment claim of a white girl. The man who got pointed at...tried his best to prove his innocence but was murdered brutally.
Later the murderers were acquitted.
Lebbick

Then you do think they believe her?
Also, that's not really an applicable scenario here, as there's no implied racial dynamic at play.

I'm talking about the KID. Noone seems to believe that he didn't do it. The popular girl got everyone enthralled in her bullshit innocent character.

Are you being obtuse on purpose for the sake of trolling?
Lebbick

What?  You tried to liken it to lynchings of black people because of white lies about rapists.  There's nothing like that here.

Yep, being obtuse.

Anyway...
My point was about the general dynamic of people believing a LIE by a supposed "nice person" based on only popularity or prior unrelated belief.  I demonstrated that it has happened in real life and the real victim had everything against him. Even with evidence being completely ignored.
Lupinetiger

I'm guessing it was either that, or the mob would have made the family, and kid's, life a living hell until the truth was revealed and the damage has already been done...

Reminds me of the Chauvin trial. According to the coroner, Floyd died of an overdose.
But the jury were afraid of getting lynched, so they threw Chauvin under the bus. Cue celebration riots.

The coroner ruled the death a homicide.

Going by dates seen here and there in the comic so far, The Extinction was within the past year. Would it be wrong of me to hope she survived the Extinction while losing everything she ever cared about?

Also cute crow! :-)
EtherSaga

Good thing this is fantasy, because none of this could ever happen in a real court. Everyone of those people would be arrested for threatening an appointed judge.
MarcusKoopa

And then the ones you DON'T see move in, beating his wife and kids to death or securing them to be used as bargaining chips until he drops charges. Or if your campaign is big enough, you will utterly destroy the lives of him and his entire family in an unending flood of abuse NOTHING will stop until the next big distraction comes in. You're not dealing with sane people in a mob of moral crusaders.

Maybe not today. But in knowable past? During Segregation, you can be sure judges were threatened, and/or bribed, into swaying a decision. I noted on a comment on FA that, when I glanced briefly to see what popped up on the matter, first thing I found was a case where it was later discovered that a judge and a lawyer worked together to coerce/force the lawyer's client to pay them $10,000, and the judge them found the man guilty and sentenced him to death in order to eliminate the witness.

I know this is probably supposed to represent a microcosm of what happens online, but depicting it as happening in a courtroom and having an IRL LGBTQ mafia show up and threaten the judge's family just has the same tone as the "down with cis bus" fakestory to me and obliterates any seriousness this comic had. RIP

I have to admit, this storyline combined with the weird "misandry" line in the first volume had me wondering. And judging by the comments, you've attracted some of those kinds of folks.

This has to be the most hilarious at first, then sad then scary because a real person can believe such utter idiocy. Specially when the LGBT are the ones getting murdered for being what they are. There is literally NOTHING against CIS. No rules, no laws, nothing that could block the life of a CIS person.
