~ The boys followed the path in front of them as they started making their way through the valley, "are you sure this is the right way to go?" Zephyr asked, "yes" Ion answered, "my dad said to just follow along this path until we reach the mountains then turn east as we go up them" he continued. "It is not like there is any other path to go" Flint added in, "we have not passed any junctions" he continued, "yes I know that" Zephyr started saying, "but the last time we went to the dragon's lands was when we were by the lighthouse and that is kind of in the opposite way of where we are going..." he continued. "So? you do know all the mountain areas are the dragon's lands right" Ion answered back, "thats why they were there, it is not like their main village is over there as well... maybe" he continued. "So you don't know for sure?" Zephyr snapped back, "well... no I don't as I have never been there... but my dad has and he said to just follow this path so I will take his word on it for now" Ion answered back as the boys came to a forest. "Should we go in?" Zephyr asked, "yes!" Flint said in an excited tone, "I mean the path goes through it and your dad did say to follow it" Flint continued as he looked at Ion, "he did so I don't see the harm in it" Ion said as the boys entered. The path started to wined as they followed it for some time, "are we still heading towards the mountains?" Zephyr asked, "we should be since the entire Eios valley is enclosed by them, except for the waterway" Ion answered, "thats not what I mean" Zephyr snapped back, "are we going towards the right mountain range to the floof dragon village?" "As I said before I believe so, again my dad said..." Ion started saying, "your dad said to follow the path yes, but look what is up ahead!" Zephyr called back as the boys came to a fork in the path they were walking on. "Curious, dad never said anything about the path breaking, he said it was a straight line to the mountains" Ion said as Flint began to scout, "can you pick up any trails?" "Not yet but I am on it!" Flint said as he continued his work, being a tribal Fennec made him really good at this sort of thing, "ok I leave it in your hands" Ion said as he took a seat on a nearby rock, "how can you rest at a time like this? Are you not the leader?" Zephyr said, "why not, Flint is good at this sort of thing so I will defer to his judgement" Ion answered, "you do trust him do you not?" Ion asked back, "yes of course I do" Zephyr replied a bit frantically, giving Flint a smile as Flint gave him a look before turning back to his tracking, "aright, which ever way you choose I will follow, but just remember we could turn around and head back towards your village for some directions, aren't the tribal Fennecs connected to the other tribals?" Zephyr asked Flint, "yes they are, but I don't know anything about connections with the floof dragons, so it may be a waist of time" Flint replied, "sure we can but again I will leave that decision up to you as you are our tracker" Ion cut in, "so Flint, which path should we choose?" ~
