Apparently Alyssa has been listening to too many skits lately. When she heard that she was going to start learning martial arts, she was excited to learn how to "boot some head". Unfortunately for her, she's got a pretty down to earth hapkido instructor who's not into teaching the flashy moves early on. This school isn't interested in making students dan (black belt) who are all show and no substance. To that end, today Aryia instructs the novice Alyssa on the basic grounding of breathing techniques.
Poor Rorick needs an outlet for Alyssa's energy. As much as he loves his daughter, her.... enthusiasm for life can be a bit overwhelming at times. At the same time, he knows what lies out there in the world and what she might have to face in the future. Why not kill two birds with one stone? This is also the start of a life-long friendship between the Kintanas and Aryia.
, great job on the posture of the front-stance! Little tyke needs to learn to not lift her back heel off the ground, keep that knee bent, and line her toes in parallel, but she'll get there over time.
This is adorable and kinda brings back some very old memories. LobaDeLaLuna ( https://inkbunny.net
In my story, "Marooned on Tashoo", I have the protagonist teach his friend and master martial arts. One thing he teaches his friend is how to fall. When his friend says, "I know how to fall." The protagonist shows him how wrong he is.
