When these two were selected as entries for the Suit Series, I knew I would have my hands full. Let's be real, their designs from the cartoon are so... out there, they would look extremely out of place in the set. Thankfully a kind soul, SorcererLance , answered my journal and offered to sketch out how they could potentially look in the games or the IDW comics for cheap!
Dingo actually required the least revamping. Thanks to previous concepts done by artists on deviantart such as drawloverlala, as well as looking at other big-bodied Mobian characters, we got him down pretty well. With his hulk he honestly looks more like a bulldog, doesn't he? I was originally going to keep him with a robotic leg but evidently there is an episode that shows Dingo just... wears a metal boot lol.
Sleet actually got the most drastic change. We more or less based his form off of Gadget/Rookie for body-type. The problem was his coloring. In the cartoon, Sleet is almost all gray save for his tail and hair. And that just... wouldn't really work out. It'd be like giving Nazo a different color of hair! In the end, the best course of action was to relegate the gray as his skin tone, leaving it just on his muzzle, ears, and the soles of his feet. His hair and tufts were given a little darker shade so they'd stand out more.
I'll be sharing their Suits pics with links to the original later this month!
Sketch by SorcererLance, lineart and colors by me!
I think I know what you're referring to, and that's intentional. That gray zone is actually the glasses stem itself, to demonstrate it's a tad thicker than the wireframes around the lenses themselves, for support. It's also why there's a little white line there to represent a highlight on the metal ^^
