My attempt to make some slight anime vibes

And yea this is what April would looks like when she's 16

If you're asking why she's sad, well... in that workshop I went 2 days ago, I've also learnt that the animation you make should also include at least 1 hidden meaning. Meh... I wonder if this one's good:
Since April is 16 in this animation, this is taking place somewhere 5 years from now (yes April is 11 now). She moves away with her family to Norway to attend engineering University. It was a hard decision, but she has to say good bye to all her friends.

As for her relation with Brittany, it has been a long time, but she seemingly finally developed some good bond with Brittany. Brittany no longer get jealous at April, and April no longer hates Brittany's attitude. They turns from enemies to friends.
She's best friend with Heather, both loves machineries, both loves hugging typhon aliens, both loves playing in the snow.
And now she said goodbye to both.

It has been 2 years now, her only method of contact with them is calling. Unfortunately she got no time to even chat because of University. Her parents tried to comforts her, they even suggested to visit her friends during her break. But sadly, things change, once loving, exquisite and enthusiastic, she became serious and concentrated. She told her parents "Forget about it, I can't let other things interfere. Education is more important." Even that, she sometimes still goes out in the night sky, imagining 1 of the stars as her friend. She's going to be living like this for god knows how long.

Deep down she missed everyone...

Right, about the secret meaning. While I usually draw stuff for fun, this one actually reflects myself, where I loses a friend once a while, not because of bad relationship, but because of reality. I had a good internet friend, unfortunately have to leave the internet forever due to University.
And also, on that same day of the workshop, it was also my school's singing contest. And I picked the former instead. I missed my chance to reunite with my classmates.
