It had been a stellar evening. It wasn't often Shadow could earnestly say he enjoyed himself being able to relax. It always seemed like there was something to do, some mission to undertake. But for the past two days, it had been sun, sand, surf, and delicacies. He'd left his gloves and jet skates in the hotel room, enjoying the feel of the warm sand on his toes and just... taking it in. The sun was setting gently into the horizon, and the sky took on deep red and purple hues. He'd been sprawled out on a towel, with Harccis not far away, the god indulging in a fruity mixed drink from the open-air bar. The sounds of seagulls and other noisy tourists were dying down, letting them enjoy the melody of the waves against the coast. Then smoke, fire, and screams. It was enough to jostle the agent from his position, red eyes snapping onto the unwelcome intrusion. Not on the beach proper, but a concrete overlook that served as a sort of barrier from larger waves into the city. "Dammit." With a flourish, he shot off into the direction, with Harccis hot on his heels. Whatever was happening, he wasn't about to waste a millisecond trying to slip on his clothes. With just his patterned shirt flailing from the wind currents he created, sunglasses slipping over his eyes, he charged in. The scent of ozone accompanied the electric crackle of Shadow's Chaos Spears, being flung at the metallic nuisances causing pandemonium. He didn't care what robots the doctor was up to using; he was going to make quick work of them and get back to relaxing! "Harccis! Boost!" Normally he wouldn't try and bark orders at a god, especially the God of Balance, but it seemed his partner was just as eager to settle things in seconds. With a harsh cry and a pair of fuzzy palms slamming on the ground, Shadow felt himself thrum with untold power. It was enough to lift him off of the ground, the intricate geometric pattern appearing under him. Flames of magic rose up around him, the illumination nearly obscuring his own feet, but his eyes were locked on the drones. "Taaake THIIS!" The yellow, crackling bolts passed through the barrier, exploding into bigger, bolder, greenish spears of mayhem, impacting the first few and creating a cloud of smoke and fire. But the barrage wouldn't end with one. Both black and red hedgehogs were unequivocally pissed at the interruption to their peace, and would show no mercy. It was completely one-sided despite the amount of drones sent out. The duo threw spears until not a single laser came out of the dust cloud, leaving behind smoldering lava and busted, melting metal. The city could clean up the mess. Dropping back to his feet, he shared a wild smirk with the god, who wiped his brow from the sudden rush. "A job well done. Perhaps we should... indulge in a mai tai before we... indulge each other for the night?" He chuckled, placing a hand on the other's hip, though he had to reach to nearly his shoulder to do. Damn this height difference... Harccis let out a noise that was a half-sigh and half-chuckle. "That was quite reckless, but I cannot say I disapprove..." his face then matched Shadow's, though, as they turned. "You mortals make some fine drinks, though; perhaps that would be a nice method to celebrate our victory~" With the adrenaline coursing through them, no doubt the evening's events would be quite satisfying. |
