Whew, I started this upgrade many months ago but finally got to finishing it cause I was almost done with it, just needed to draw her clothes so I could upload it on my site. Kind of got discouraged when I started drawing the clothes as next time I will make sure the clothing is sketched properly before I do any freehanding. It's not too hard to draw the layers over the body, but blending the shading of the clothing and seeing what you're doing when it's freehanded makes it a challenge to get the lines right until after I shade. Still this wasn't too bad.
You can compare this drawing to the other one which was done on my phone. The technique is the same, but Krita's blend brush tool really helps smooth out the shading a lot better. Medibang and other programs can use the smudge tool for a similar effect, but the fact that Krita's blurs and smudges at the same time make it act more like using tissues on chalk pastels to smooth blend colors together. I love the effect cause it gives me much more control over the light and shadows. Course, this drawing was the last one I did without an "Ambient" layer to do the edges where body parts overlap.... manually blending those edges takes an eternity to get perfect, but using the Ambient Occlusion layer separately makes it SO much easier and faster. Still I'm happy I did this. I intend to do this for several of my other drawings.
