My brother offered me some edibles today, I accidentally took to many and ended up on planet mars. It was pretty hard to try and design a character in this state. I wanted her to look like a boxed up figurine: Covered in barcodes and advertisements for herself and logos of co-operating companies.

Her collar indicates how much longer she has left in her term. Some collared animals are slaves of companies and are working off a debt. Purchasing a slave in this way is actually a purchase of their debt from their owner-- the slave becomes indebted the same amount to whoever bought it. Usually, the collar will release automatically once the debt has been paid off completely.

The debt can be paid through rendering services like cooking and cleaning, selling of children into slavery-- which is common for rabbits especially. Prostitution, though the prices are very low, and becoming meat.

If debt isn't paid by a predetermined age, the collar will poison it's wearer and their debt will generally be repaid as much as possible through the selling of their parts, both hardware and meat. Brains and skulls are often donated for study, and sometimes taxidermy is done if there's any personal or financial benefit to be gained from keeping the body around.

The rings are handles for connecting to machinery, or connecting to interlocking rings on breeding animals. The handles are drilled into and secured onto bones. On this girl, the handles are secured onto the lowest two ribs of the ribcage, the front of the ridge of the hip, and two more through the ankles which fall down the foot like shoe-laces. Pulling on these is very painful and breakage of these bones is common and expected, the bones strengthen over multiple breaks and fractures. In the case of the ankles, this process also reduces flexibility, which reduces the slaves mobility.
