Oh no, it's a human!
A while back when I was first introduced to Zoophobia by my fren, a topic that came up was how Cameron -- being the fish in the fish outta water trope -- was not the best audience representative literary-wise considering that she was an adult when the vast majority of main cast were high schoolers and she wasn't even a teacher, she was a counselor. This meant that she couldn't follow the main cast around on their adventures, creating a disconnect between the "regular human who is afraid of animals gets dropped into a world of fuzzies and shapeshifters" premise and what the main cast is doing. At least until the main cast comes to Cameron for counseling regarding their personal issues (which unfortunately only happened once in the comic before it got dropped -- the whole Jack counseling session backstory arc).
So I proposed a solution to my fren -- have a similarly aged human char follow the main cast around, and to maintain connection, make them a child of Cameron's. We settled on a female, then I got bored one day and decided to actually draw her out.
So bam, meet Sera, Cameron's daughter. With slight edge. ...don't blame Cameron, being a single mother looking for a job is tough.
