As she cleaned the last of the glasses in her current queue, the young barista kept her eyes on the door as she waiting for her brother to arrive. Anu had talked to her a couple of nights ago and told her about this girl he'd met in the park the other day, and how he asked her to a date to her own coffee shop. Today was that day. And so there Keb was, taking folk's orders and making brewed coffee drinks for her customers. Yet she kept her eye on the door, waiting for her brother and his mystery date to arrive.
As the thought crossed her mind, she saw her brother round the corner and walk into the shop. The first thing she noticed was that he was holding his hands together and nervously fidgeting, and she could tell the poor boy was nervous about this whole thing. For a split second she caught his eye as his darted around the coffee shop, at which point he nervously waved to her. Keb, always knowing her brother's habit of worrying too much and overthinking things, simply offered a warm reassuring smile and waved back to him. Before she could do anything else however, a young cat lady came up to the counter for her order, and got back into her job. By the time she was done taking her order and getting around to making it however, she cast another glance at the front door and saw Anu turn to look at a girl who just walked through the door. Said girl was a white furred rabbit with long black hair down to her mid back, wearing brown boots up to her knees with purple and orange diamond leggings and a turquoise skirt. She wore a simple black shirt, a white beanie, and glasses that outlined her cute eyes. Keb wondered if this was the girl Anu had met, and her answer was confirmed when she saw his cheeks flush red and could hear him audibly clear his throat and address her. When the ivory-furred lapine let out a soft giggle in response to his address, the young jackal barista couldn't resist a wide grin in their direction before lowering her head and cleaned a few more used glasses.
She got so wrapped up in her work, she was a little surprised when she looked up again and saw her brother and his adorable date standing at the front counter. She immediately smiled and spoke with her usual barista pep. "Hello there Anu! What can I get you and your lovely date?~" The ivory-furred lapine put her hand up to her mouth and let out a soft giggle that just melted Keb's heart, and Anu's face visibly flushed dark red behind his ebony fur. He cleared his throat and responded, "Ah yes, um, one Barista Daily Special please for me and Jude please." Keb smiled her normal warm smile and replied, "You got it!" She turned and went about making her drink, and at this point Anu and Jude took a seat at a small table directly in front of the counter.
The two furs began to just chat, Anu seeming pretty nervous at first but loosening up a bit as more and more, they talked. Keb kept looking up from preparing the drink for her brother, grinning as she set down one large glass filled with an elaborate coffee drink topped with whipped cream, some heart shaped candies, and two straws. She called out, "ANU!" His ears perking up at her name, the jackal approached the counter. His smile was more natural now, and he looked far happier as he took his drink and offered a "thank you" to his sister. Keb smiled as her work slowed down and she kept cleaning her glass, smiling a warm smile at her brother as he told Jude some story about his youth while Jude listened and let out joyous laughs.
Keb was practically beaming, so happy that her brother found a woman like Jude.
