Day Six
Friday 2 pm
Tails came by to help us find pinecones, but it was to no avail. My stomach won't shut up. Everyone is ignoring it, but the pain won't leave. I'm much more skinny that any of the guys. But, I don't want to think about it. We finished the rest of the candy my mom sent me today.
We were messing around in the cabin, inhaling helium and making silly voices. The past two days have been a heck of a lot better since Tais joined us during his freetime. Finally, this nightmare will be over by tomorrow, but Mr. Blondie, whome I've learned from Tails is called Mr. Jason, will pay for this.
"So, what does he do around camp?" Duke asked Tails when we began talking about him. Tails thought for a moment and replied, "Well, he watches us play the camp games, but not much else. We don't really see him other than then and the worship services. Also, he's been watching me very closely the whole week. I think he suspects that I somehow know you, Sonic." I nervously swallowed. If Mr. Jason got suspicious of Tails, that might mean he'd been watching me, and he'd catch us hanging with him. Tails patted my back.
"Don't worry, Sonic. I don't think he plans of keeping you here any longer." I nodded, but didn't feel much better.
"So, what's the deal with his girlfriend?" Dan asked.
"Nothing," Tails answered, "She's just the banker. She innocent in all of this, except for not sharing her knowledge with the authorities."
"Looks like we'll have to come down on her about this too," I thought aloud. The guys looked at me.
"Sonic," Derek asked, "What are you planning?"
"Nothing," I replied. I checked the time on my phone. It was time for Tails to get up and head to dinner with the other campers. Before he left, he and I hugged.
"Hey, sorry I couldn't help you guys find anything today."
"Aw, don't worry about it, Dude. I'll be fine."
I didn't sleep very well that night. I kept having horrible nightmares and my stomach was totally empty. I tossed and turned, but was unable to stay asleep. I woke up Derek, who woke up everyone else.
"What's wrong, Sonic?" Cinos asked me, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"I'm sorry guys, but I've gotta eat something, I can't sleep." We searched all over the cabin, but couldn't find anything, giving me anxiety and causing my stomach to growl.
"Well," Mako said, "I was saving this for later, but you can have it." He gave me a large Hershey's bar. I stared at him.
"Mako, are you sure?" I asked.
"If it'll help you sleep, then I'm sure. I don't want you to suffer 'cuz you're hungry."
"Thank you."
I ate the candy Mako had so kindly offered me, and finally, was able to enjoy a few hours of sleep.
