For one with an eidetic memory and obstinate, combative personality it is very, very difficult to actually forgive anyone.

But I need to be willing to forgive. Forgiveness doesn't mean claiming I have no right to retaliation or completely forgetting that I've been wronged; it means acknowledging I have been wronged and withholding my rightful retaliation out of mercy. If you truly, truly reject my mercy, it's not I who will punish you for the wrongs you've done me and if you genuinely accept it, we can both move on from it and live eternally in Heaven as neighbors.

"I forgive you! But, I hope one day you will grovel before God!"

Could you be more hypocritical

Please find me the hypocrisy because there's none at all here. Everyone has done things worthy of eternal hellfire in the eyes of God, but God is perfect in mercy as well as justice and wants to give them every opportunity not to receive a just punishment. Genuine, heartfelt remorse is a prerequisite to being truly forgiven.

If I'd said "I forgive you but I want you to rot in hell" or "I forgive you but I'll be carrying a grudge against you to the grave" that'd be hypocrisy. Or when I was making and commissioning art with the specific purpose of inciting arousal and lustful thoughts while otherwise clinging to traditional Christian morals on the sanctity of marriage.

But telling the people who've hurt me that I want them to beg forgiveness of God, that even the worst they've afflicted on me is pretty petty in the grand scheme of things, and I want to share heaven with people who otherwise don't believe in an afterlife but wish hell was real specifically so that people like me can suffer in it? That's pretty basic Christian teaching and I've got plenty of reason to believe I'm not the first you've heard it from.
