I have no clue why the edge is flattened out - it was perfectly fine when it started.

Out of curiosity, what kind of paint are you using on these?

primarily "Panduro Acrylic Gloss" and assorted Walmart brands from a company called Apple Barrel. Those types are Matte acrylics.

I try to use the panduro ones a bit more because they're better quality.
