Anyway, so I wanted to convey Toffee's character better, and simple character profiles just ain't my jam. Especially when her character is different on her first appearance vs all other appearances (and late game).
I've changed her backstory, made it simpler, made it so she doesn't really know the other characters at first, while some do know her.
Toffee, for me, basically exists as a semi-villainous character who fills holes and adds depth to other characters, more than be interesting simply on her own.
But I thought, while I self indulge in my Toffee in Sonic Heroes 2 sequel fantasy, I should give context to how her first appearance ends, and why she's at odds with Sonic.
All the ideas I have, I quite like her rivalry with Sonic, I like the way it adds a lot more depth to Sonic than his normal kind of rivalry where it has 0 emotional impact on him.
Final Boss:
Essentially when Toffee first appears, she's rather neutral to the hero story, acting as an ally as you slowly see her reveal her radical nature.
By the end of her first appearance, Toffee and Sonic team up, go super and fight off Eggman's big plan of the game. It's meant to be a deceptive final Boss as it's fairly easy.
But following that, Toffee decides to finally finish off Eggman, which Sonic has an issue with, turning the real final boss fight to be Super Sonic vs Super Toffee.
