The handsome Shepard lowered himself, kneeling just in front of the ataman. As he plucked the dangling shoes from her toes, Roxie nervously rubbed her stockinged paws together. She knew what he was thinking.
“Max, I… I know about you and Ms. Dixon…”
Max often spent time with Dixie when they were off duty. She’d pull off her boots and put her paws up on his lap. He’d start off by rubbing her tiered feet but they always ended up sharing a good laugh. There was a big difference, though.
