Warning : This story takes place 100 years after Rarity dead. This story base on season 4. So anything that happened in season 5 will have nothing to do with this story. (Except how CMC got their cutie mark. They have canon one)

Well if the Mane 6 are meant to be "immortal" why would death be hellbent on souls that cannot be collected?

The laws of nature, of life and death, don't always account for some sources of immortality. If you gain eternal life through some means, those who keep the books don't get the memo, or the memo is never written or sent.

In a sense, most media say a character is immortal, but they can actually be killed by anything except time.

The term that should be used is "ageless".

Your right, but most Immortals are actually fairly hard to kill, even if you were to cut off they're head from they're body, they'd keep liveing, and most have the ability to heal from any wound, kind of like Wolverine. Usually the only way to put an immortal down for good is to do enough damage all at once to overwhelm they're healing factor. And even then, they might find a way to make a comeback XD .

Here's my problem though. If one is immortal, they CAN'T DIE. PERIOD. Decapitation, poison, dismemberment, nothing will work. They're not hard to kill, they just can't die.

The best example I can think of is Hidan from Naruto. He's an immortal, with zero healing/regeneration powers.

Ok, wasn't sure who you were talking about since I've missed a LOT of Naruto, so I had to look him up. Found this on the Fan Wiki and I can provide the link if need be. "Despite being immortal, he is still capable of dying from a lack of nutrients and his immortality will wear off if he does not do his ritual within a period of time."

When it comes to Immortality, there always seems to be some kind of catch.

I didn't read the comments before, it just struck me where that sentence came from. It's a bit silly, but my appreciation for this comic and some of it's lore and world building just increased significantly because of that. And for the record, I was already loving it.

That one sentence and it's explanation (it made Twilight's friends live as long as Twilight instead) explains so much about this world. I just love the idea that that one little tweet was the inspiration for what happened to Twilight's friends and all the lore it sprouted. Very impressed vavacung :).
