Raised out of her mothers' fortune telling cart, Laraprita learned all the tricks and tips of fortune telling when she was still fairly young. Her mother is a Kellas Cat, and originally from Scotland, and her father is a Cait Sidhe, a type of faerie who her mother one day seduced for fun. He left behind his favorite sash which she has to this day, and a daughter with eerie magical powers.
While Prita's mother knows some magic herself, her daughter was brimming with potential. After teaching her daughter all she knew, Prita's mother sent her off to study under the best witches she knew to help her hone her abilities. An avid student, the little kitten picked up quickly, and started push herself in earnest.
Now an adult, Laraprita is still an eager student in magic, as well as an occasional teacher. She's always ready to learn new spells or types of magic, which she happily shares with others. She makes work for herself mainly in fortune-telling, which is ironically not her best skill because of the deep focus and concentration it requires. She loves to travel. After leaving Scotland years ago, she now travels around America working outlet malls and hidden away tarot shops.
Laraprita may appear calm and collected at first, but she's really kind of a bundle of nerves. She strives to have a "together" appearance, but if her car is any indication, she's really disorganized when it comes to her personal life. Still somewhat self-conscious about her body, her magic skills and her general sense of purposelessness, she is waiting for that confidence women suddenly get upon turning 30. Until then, whenever she gets too bummed out, she can just call her mom.
