It’s the beginning of summer and of course I decided that now would be a good time to go on a vacation to New York. Where all the hustle and bustle are, everyone walking in large to medium groups, chatting while they drink their Frappuccinos and soy lattes. Meanwhile, I’m over here, a classy goth girl in her new long sleeve blouse with frilled star patterns at the end and black mini skirt combo. My fur being a lustrous pink, accenting my dark clothing perfectly. It’s only the beginning so the weather is still on the spring side. I knew today would be a nice day for a walk. The gentle wind caressing my hair, the sun, muted by the stark white clouds in the sky, the cities never-ending entertainment of sights and people. It feels like the perfect day to go out to my favorite café and get my usual mocha iced-coffee, with just a dab of espresso. Anyhow, I’m currently walking across one of New York’s many bridges, on the sidewalks of course, trying to get to my destination without heating up too much. I casually weave through a few groups of people, some still in warmer clothes, other in sportswear and…marathon T-shirts? I began to realize that many of the people around me were wearing sport merchandise as they chattered excitedly about some event, and occasionally how the waters are being tainted by engine oil.
“Huh, I didn’t realize there was a sporting event being held today.” I whispered to myself, not wanting to make others think I’m a loon for talking to myself. I flicked my feline tail back and forth, ears twitching slightly as I started to hear the slight pitter patter of feet, growing louder by each passing second into thunderous pounding on the pavement. I turned my head to the right behind me, and instead of cars, there was a huge swarm of people, racing across the bridge in sports tanks and shorts. I flattened my ears to my head at the ridiculously loud sound, my sleek, carefully groomed lavender hair shivering at the sudden disruption. Some of the passerby stopped and started cheering for the racers, hooting and hollering like a Bunch of crazies. I shook my head and continued to walk towards my destination, smoothing out my disheveled blouse. I decided to keep glancing towards the runners as the rushed past us, feet pounding, sweat dripping off of furred, feathered, scaled and skin covered faces. I sighed; I don’t really understand the appeal of participating in sports. Sure, I do enjoy womans tennis matches every once in a while, but actually participating in the sport doesn’t sound that great to me.
I suppose I don’t particularly enjoy getting all sweaty like that. And it looks physically exhausting. I continued to scan the gaggle of runners until my eyes landed on one in particular. Well, I guess there is marotte to watching sports. Some of the girls are pretty cute. This one bunny-girl in particular looked fabulous, her short creamy colored fur glistening in the sun with her ears pulled up into a pony tail with lime green tips. She is particularly curvy and fashionable (Well, as a runner's outfit can be) In that neon green crop top and medium length tight shorts. Showing of a nicely rounded buttock. Her fur was shining with sweat.  I blushed and looked away. Come on, Cattleya, there’s no reason to think dirty thoughts, especially about a stranger! I shook my head clean of those thoughts and began speed-walking towards café. I hope that I’m almost there, or I might start to sweat myself. The weather has decided to warm up a little.
After some quick walking and little game of dodge the pedestrian, I finally make it to the end of the bridge, where, of course all of the runners have congregated at the end of the race. Hm, I seem to be running into all sorts of events today. Well, hopefully the rest of the day will be-ah!” As I was trying to get around the runners, my hand accidently slid right across someone's rear my fingers catching a bit on their short, fluffy tail. “Oh my, I’m so sorry-I seriously didn’t mean to!” I turned around and to my surprise the one I accidently touched was nonother than the bunny-girl I saw running the marathon, looking at me with cheery amusement in her big, beautifully light-yellow eyes. “Oh! Hey there! It’s alright!” She laughed, a cute little laugh. “It’s really crowded around here! We just got off a huge marathon! I think I got in the top ten!” She gave me the most radiant smile I’ve ever seen! Ah, she’s just too adorable! “Y-yes, that’s great! I don’t know much about the sport, but I assume with as many runners as there are, that’s quite an accomplishment!” I gave her my best smile; I felt my cheeks start to flush a little. She blinked at me and smiled even wider, suddenly hooking her arm around mine. “C’mon, let’s get out of the crowd and talk some more, yeah?”
I nodded wordlessly as she led me out of the crowd of excited and exhausted runners, all of them being women. “I suppose this was an all woman's race?” I inquired as we dogged a particularly spritely, tall grey-hound lady, her crop top and booty shorts barely covering her lean body and subtle breasts. Why are there so many cute girls around today? Well, aside from the obvious reason. The bunny-girl nodded her head vigorously and pulled us both to the side. “Yeah! Today was the annual summer woman's marathon!” She unhooked her arm from mine and twirled around to face me. Giving me a little smirk and wink. “I’m June by the way, what’s your name? Is it violet, like the color of you pretty hair?” I gaped slightly and cleared my throat. Was she hitting on me? On this gothic little lady? I smiled bashfully and bowed my head a little, my cheeks starting to burn from embarrassment. “My name is Cattaleya, but you can call me Catt for short if you wish.” I sputtered out my words as gracefully as I could in front of this adorable ray of sunshine. “Oh, that’s such a fancy name! Did you come from another country?” I smiled and shook my head. “No, my parents simply thought the name sounded like royalty or something like that. She nodded energetically and sighed dreamily. “I wish my name had more of a royally sound to it. My mom just chose the name that sounded the cutest. But at least it has that going for it!”
I chuckled at her naive pout and optimistic attitude. Can someone this adorable really exist? “Well, I think it matches you perfectly, from what I’ve seen of you.” June smirked and took a step towards me, a mischievous glint sparkling in her eyes. I swallowed nervously, taking a small step back. “Well, if that’s the case would you like to see even more of me then?’ Before I could sputter out my answer to such a lewd question, she let out a hearty laugh and pointed down one of the boulevards. “I meant at the Evanescent Café, silly!” I gave her a little glare as she continued to laughed at my expense. So, I just rolled my eyes and shrugged. Ah well, at least we’re still going to the cafe as I planned to do earlier. Though, to not to this particular one. “Well, let’s go then! It’s a bit of a walk, but it’s not too far from us. Maybe 10 minutes?” “Wait,” I stopped her before she could bound off again. She looked back at me with the most curious expression. “Don’t you want to take a break first? You just ran a literal marathon!” She smiled once again and waved her hands dismissively. “It's fine, it’s fine! All I needed was a 5-minute break and a good ol’ bottle of ice-cold water!” She held out her hand for me to take, in which I instinctually do so. “Well, let’s get a move on to that Café!” “Alright, alright slow down! I don’t want to get my new clothes dirty.” And with that I suppose we are now on our way to this “Evanescent Café" as she called it. I just hope they have nice iced-coffee mochas there.
After about ten minutes of walking through the bustling city, taking in the sights, and admiring all of the chick designer clothing stores (and eyeing a few gay clubs) We finally arrive at our destination; a quaint little café sandwiched between a “Love for paws” boutique and unfortunately a high-class bong and vape shop. The café itself looked like it had a warm, downtown kind of feel to it, with a sign that says the name in very elaborate cursive. June tugged on my sleeve and smiled brightly, showing of a set of pearly white teeth. “C’mon, don’t be shy! This place has the best spinach wraps around!” I wrinkled my nose a bit at the spinach wrap bit and just prayed that they at least had decent soups and pastries. June and I pushed open with door with a little ting, being meet with a low-lit softly decorated area with pictures of old jazz musicians on the wall, a few well-kept booths here and there, and decently sized round tables carefully placed around the establishment. The warm smell of fresh bread and savory tomato-basil soup wafted up into my nose. I took a deep breath in. Ah, what a pleasant aroma! I think I know what I’m going to get now. June waved over a waitress who looked as if she got stung by a bee.
“Yes, yes, right this way.” The stout Vole woman ushered us into a booth and crankily asked us what we would like to drink. She seemed to have quite a few wrinkles on her poor face. She’s still cute in her own way I suppose. “A dragon-fruit ice tea, please!” June chirped happily, not allowing the waitresses dour mood affect our café date. I blinked. Did I just call this a date? We’re just two girls hanging out, right? “Do you want a drink, miss?” I wined at the slightly snappy tone in her voice. “Y-yes, I’ll have an iced mocha Frappuccino, if you have it, please.” She responded with a grunt and waddled off to go get us some drinks. Geez! I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but that was just uncalled for! “Well, she sure is in a bad mood!” June laughed it off, brushing her bangs out of her face and looking around, seemingly aloof. “Soooooo, what brings you out here to the fabulous place of Brooklyne, New York? You here to watch some grand sports? Just here for a vacation? Oh, are you here to see the Botanic Garden? I’ve heard that it’s really pretty, especially in the summer! The conservatories are supposed to be neat as well” She paused just for a few seconds as the waitress gives us our drinks and menus and hurries off. I
“I’m here for the marathon, obviously, but I definitely plan on going shopping and taking some neat photos of this place! Particularly the gardens.” She finally takes a breath and swigs some of her dragon fruit ice tea. I take this as an opportunity to answer her question. “Oh, yeah! I’m definitely here for vacation! I was actually planning on visiting the Antoinette, a vintage clothing store that I've been looking forward to!” I take a look at the menu while talking, it seems they do in fact have tomato basil soup on the menu. Hm, I think I’ll get that and some salad, maybe some bread as well. “I enjoy vintage clothing, especially those with a gothic look and feel to them, you know?” June’s eyes widened and she smiled bigger, nodding enthusiastically. “Yeah, cool! I totally get it! I’m more into modern wear myself, but vintage stuff is pretty cool, too!” She takes another swig of her tea. “You know, this place actually has kind of a neat history to it, ya know? This café has seen some pretty harsh times. I did my research before coming here, and I just knew this was the place I need to visit after my marathon!” I perk my ears at the mention of neat history, I always enjoy a good back story to older establishments such as this.  I place my menu down and pick up my iced coffee, giving it a little sip. Ah, nice and refreshing, melt-in-your-mouth-mocha with a much-needed twinge of bitterness to it. “Really now? Care to share this fascinating history with me?”
“Yeah, of course! I- oh, hold on.” Just as she started speaking, the waitress came back to ask us for our order in a slightly less grumpy tone than before “Oh, yeah! Sorry!” June said with an apologetic smile. “I’ll have the spinach wrap with potato soup and a slice of fresh bread please!” June spouted out her order cheerily as I quickly looked over the menu once again to make sure I have it right. “Oh, Yes, I’ll have tomato basil soup with a side a salad a slice of bread, please.” The waitress jots down are orders and hurries away again. I wonder what the rush is all about? There’re only a few other people in here. Ah well, maybe she’s simply trying to do her job quickly and proficiently. Or she’s just hasty. Either way, after we order our food, we start chatting away about the history of the Café'. Apparently, there were racial struggles with the owners, and someone tried to get the place shut down by introducing feral rats into the kitchen. On a happier note, though, this place has apparently held many jazz concerts, small ones of course. And some of the food was inspired by a jazz musician and her girlfriend who basically ran the place for a long time. We kept chatting about the mixed history of the café until the waitress brought us our food, setting each appropriate dish down in front of the respectful owner.
“Thank you! Oh, and here’s your tip already! Don’t spend it all in one pace!” She hands the waitress a 7-dollar tip. She mumbles a thanks in response and once again hurries off. “Huh, I wonder why she rushes so much? Mut be our chaotic energy or something scaring her off, haha!” I chuckle a little at her joke and continue to chat with her and munch on my food every once in a while. There seems to be so many things to do here in Brooklyn. Anyway, as we are talking for a while, I find myself gazing at her face. She has the cutes dimples when she smiles, her freckles beautifully accenting her petite, round face. I cast my gaze down a little more, admiring her slender neck, so kissable, and her particularly large...breasts. “Heeeeey Caaaaatt! Are you there? Or are you too busy “admiring” someone~?” I felt my face become red hot at her sultry tone. I looked up and we locked eyes, a playful grin and a flirty twinkle in her eyes made me want to melt from the embarrassment. “I-I wasn’t ogling you I swear! I-I just think you're really pretty and a joy to talk to, and-” I felt my face getting even redder by the second, causing June to giggle to herself and waves a hand dismissively. “No, no, you’re fine! I think you’re pretty cute as well!” She takes the last bite of her spinach wrap and winks at me. I believe I may have a heart attack from the sheer beautiful cuteness of this sweet woman.
“So, here’s the thing though, I really do have other Kinda important things to do today, so I can’t hang out much longer, but-!” She whips out her from her bag and looks at me expectantly. “We can totally exchange numbers and hang out some more tomorrow if you’re not busy!” I swallow my embarrassment and quickly agree. “Y-yes, absolutely! We can visit the botanical garden!”
“Or go to the empire store to check it out!”
“Ah yes, and the park! I love sitting at those with a nice cup of tea and a good book.”
“Oh, oh! And we can check out some of the rec centers around here! You don’t have to join; you can just watch. ~”
We both giggle to ourselves as we both exchange numbers and pay for our lunches, starting to make our way out the door when she suddenly stops me the moment we exit. “Hey, before we part ways, you mind if we take a picture together?” I smile a little and agree to take the picture, resulting in her readying her phone and wrapping her arm around my shoulder, her soft breast pressing up against mine. I shudder as she leans in close for the picture, her soft breath tickling my nose. “Alrighty, say cheese!” just then, right as she pressed the button for the photo, I felt a warm tingling sensation on my left cheek. I jumped at little as laughed as withdrew her arm from my shoulders. “Wha- did you kiss me?!” She ran from me a little way and stuck her tongue out. “I dunno, maybe? I’ll send you a copy over text if you’re curious~!” She laughed a little again and waved me off as she jogged down the sidewalk to wherever her next destination is. I gently put my finger up to spot she kissed, so gentle and warm. I smiled. I’m suddenly looking forward to our next date tomorrow.
