“Auntie Hornet!!”
I slammed the door open and run inside.
She bounced up in shock, in guard, but soon lay down her nail when she realized it’s me.
And I realized that there are others in this hut.
“…Scorch. Sting, Needle? Why you are here?”
“Well, same as the reason that you are here, I bet.” Scorch said.
“I’m really sorry, kids.” Hornet sighed and sit down, “I so far didn’t find any way to… mend such a big crack…”
“It looks impossible… but, hey, I’ll keep looking for the way to make it, trust me.”
“I think we don’t have to know!” I said, too excited to see if that would work or not…
They turned to look at me like I’m out of my mind…
But I don’t really care.
I pulled the shell I found and put it in front of Hornet.
“I found this deep down here, Auntie Hornet! Do you think it’s possible to mend the crack like this?”
They gasped as they saw the shell, what are they thinking, thinking that it’s as same as the shell she has?
They circled it, keep looking at it.
“…Very similar, I actually can’t see anything is different than her shattered shell, that would fit her in.”
“So we can bring her back if we mend this shell?” Scorch asked too.
“Not really,” Hornet sighed and shake her head, “There’s still a lot of difficulties ahead, but at least you’ve made the first step.”
“Uh?”
“Let me explain, the little ghost… well, she was a shade in Abyss, had you ever been into Abyss before?”
We all shake our heads.
“Well…” She pressed her forehead with her finger, “Let me just keep it simple, without a shell, the little ghost probably has two possibilities… One is, she’s really dead… vanished forever.”
I gulped, and I heard Scorch’s roar in furious, denying this possibility.
“Second, when she lost the shell, her movement will be restrained, making her can only stay in Abyss… Let’s hope that she really just returned to Abyss, and if we find her, we can make her revive.”
“Then lets’ go find her! Where’s that damned Abyss?!” Scorch growled.
“Wait, we need to prepare about this,” Hornet placed a hand on his forehead, “At very least, we need to mend this shell. Besides, Abyss is full of dangers, a lot of deadly hostiles are there, they are even stronger than any single bugs in Hallownest, we must beware.”
