I wanted to show a moment before Sonic and Ash got together, this moment is Sonic finding out what Ash has to deal with from time to time, some of Mina's fans thinking just because they have been fans for her for so long think they can get free stuff. So Ash will either get flirted with, death threats, or some who get physical, just for some free tickets or merch or to try and sneak backstage to see Mina without her knowledge. So Ash carries around a bat his uncle Conrad gave him, mostly to protect himself from those who threaten him.
Mina doesn't know about these type of fans because Ash has made it his mission for her not to know, because she holds her fans in such high regard she believes none of them would ever do something to hurt her or the band. Ash wanted to believe too, but when your the one getting the death threats and noticing just how "good" security really is you can't help but be prepared.
Most of this started when Sonic and Sally snuck in to Mina's trailer to talk with her about her song about Nicole.
