Okay, my focus is a little scattered because I downloaded the digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons before 2021 started, and have been enjoying it ever since. (Full disclosure, I have reached the point where Nook's Cranny will be closed tomorrow for renovations.)
While I was playing the game, I had an idea mulling around in my brain: One of your tasks while making your island your own is to collect creatures to fill a museum, run by the talkative (and insectophobic) owl Blathers. And yes, you get your own NookPhone with an app that lists the creatures you collect, but what it doesn't do is display the facts Blathers tells you about them. So, I came up with a device that rectifies that.
Behold, the curator compendium, the ultimate encyclopedia of island wildlife. Programmed with info of every available creature and supplied with their paragraphs of facts. I call it... the Blatherdex.
???: On account of it looks like Blathers in Rotom Phone form?
Exactly. The compendium's entries are categorized into these colored pages.
Green is bugs.
Aqua is fish.
Blue, deep-sea creatures.
???: What's purple with white speckles for?
Fossils. Those get more repetitive than you'd think.
Anyway, I may be working on this little side project during intermissions of my writing, so look forward to some entries!
