Well, Mellow is getting a spotlight chapter with Nyarai. And Nyarai is getting a chapter as well. The cover page reminds me of her in Chapter 6, but this time with Jowdie as company, showing her being more open. I like the fact that the perspective focuses on Mellow as it develops his character while giving a reason to focus on Nyarai and Jowdie in this chapter. Mellow shows a surprising amount of sacrifice and determination in the first pages, taking too many jobs and selling his Combagal memorabilia to enter Club Nighthawk. His ability to lie under pressure is good as he attempts to stroke Nyarai's ego by expressing his admiration for her victory against Adelgund, which falls short because she knows he's a fan of Muko. Even after claiming he doesn't like Muko anymore, his loyalty (or feelings) remain as he is horrified at Miho constantly diminishing her popularity. The chapter shows that Mellow has a submissive charm as Jowdie enjoys talking with him and Nyarai actually acknowledges him as a potential playmate after he amuses her by smelling her feet and telling them they smell like popcorn. Nyarai shows many different sides of her character. She's not as popular as one would expect as the Masato Champion or hostess. People still hate Wilds, diminishing her victory in the long term. Also, those who know her know that Nyarai is gonna kick them in the face at the slightest grievance. The way Nyarai taunts Mellow implies that she was ready to kick him out of sheer sadism before Jowdie arrived. Despite her sadism, Nyarai also has good memory and deductive skills, recognizing Mellow as a Muko fan, seeing through his lie, and testing his loyalty. Her temper appears to be a source of comedy as she gets mad at Mellow talking about her phone and Jowdie teasing her. Her pride in her legs and feet is shown when she goes with Jowdie's plan of having Mellow smell her feet under threat of violence and is pleased when he compliments her. Jowdie was a great addition to the chapter. We see that she's Nyarai's best friend and conscience in the Cyclone Crushers. I like how the phone Nyarai has was a gift from Jowdie because she was too cheap to buy one. It was nice of her to save Mellow from getting his face kicked in. That being said, the chapter shows that Jowdie has a mean streak, as seen when she suggests the popcorn paw smell thing with Nyarai. Not only was Mellow forced to do it in public, but Jowdie enjoyed it as much as Nyarai did, laughing at his embarrassment. At least it shows that Jowdie has many facets to her character besides being the nice member of the Cyclone Crushers. Great chapter. I hope to see more chemistry between Mellow and Nyarai. Hope he doesn't get his face kicked in. Until next chapter.

I'm really curious as to what Mellow's motives and goal are here. I know hes a pretty nervous fellow, but he doesn't seem like he really became interested in Nyarai. If he isn't and still likes Muko like she suspects, I don't see what him doing this could possibly do to help Muko though.
