This is the Javi from the universe where Esperanza didn't survive the Extinction. Javi didn't die thanks to his bionic augmentations, but being functionally the last living intelligent being on Earth (or at least, in a really really large area), he devoted his immortal existence to frantic, mindless science, researching for the sake of researching, just to stay busy and not to give up to the despair of eternal solitude. This caused him to completely abandon all ethics, having no social rules to obey and often engaging in whatever brainless self-indulgence his lifeless body could come up with.
