Character Sheet for Chrystix
Character Description
A determined world hopping gemstone hunter who uses his finds to power the crystal in his chest.
Personality
Chrystix can be extremely selfish at times. He heavily covets any kinds of valuables he finds, and gemstones he covets above all else, due to his use of them.. He often hops between different locales, partly due to his fear of any world he stays in ending up like his own. Despite this he finds himself sentimental and tries his best to take mementos of the worlds and people he meets. This extends to a strong protective instinct of those worlds and people. He'll often throw himself into conflicts that threaten those worlds, even if its not necessary. He finds it difficult to rely on others, being alone for most of his life.
Likes/Dislikes
Chrystix enjoys traveling and seeing new things and meeting new people. He loves and studies all kinds of minerals and gemstones, learning to draw power from them. He loves food and drink, despite not needing them to sustain himself. Areas that are devoid of life are repulsive to Chrystix, reminding him of his home.
Background/History
The first thing Chrystix remembered is being in front of a large crystal Monolith, and being tethered to it. At first he could only move about 10 feet away from it. If he exerted himself he could maybe double that distance before passing out and waking up next to the Monolith again.
As time went on he found himself feeling weaker, and the gemstone in his chest grew dimmer. As he looked around his limited area he found small mineral deposits that stuck out from the monochromatic grey stone around him. As he got closer to them he realized they were attracted to his crystal, and they gave it energy. As he gathered more and more deposits he was able to gain more energy and travel further.
This went on until one day he found a gemstone the size of a soccer ball. As he brought it back to the small camp he made next to the Monolith he saw a shooting star in the night sky. It led him to begin thinking of what it would be like to be able to leave the planet he was on, and what else was out there. The more he thought about it the warmer his crystal grew, until suddenly he wasn't on his desolate rock anymore. He was somewhere new. With fresh air and green grass and other living things.
Chrystix was overwhelmed, before realizing the gemstone he had was gone. Chrystix ran across the green hills, taking in new sights, sounds and smells. He ate his first fruit and was astounded at the sensation. He carefully investigated a lake and let himself lay in the shallow waters. As he watched the sun set he closed his eyes, thinking of what new things he'd find the next day.
Then he woke up. Next to the Monolith. His crystal near completely dim. He didn't have the energy to be angry or sad, just enough to find his small stash of emergency mineral deposits to keep himself alive. After he refueled his crystal he set off towards the wasteland again. This time with a goal. He knew what he had to do to get back to that paradise he'd experienced all too briefly. And he'd be damned if he ever let himself be dragged back here again.
Relatives/Family
World/Setting
Chrystix's world is a desolate wasteland, the only things there besides Chrystix himself being small mineral deposits and larger gemstone geodes. As well as a large crystal Monolith that Chrystix will be recalled to if the energy in his crystal runs out. Chrystix has traveled many worlds trying to find out what the Monolith is, and hasn't found much. The only thing he knows for certain is that there are others. Whether or not others like Chrystix are bonded to these Sister Monoliths is unknown...
Body
Chrystix is a Fox with blue fur adorning most of his body, except his chest, stomach and groin, which have white fur. Along Chrystix's body are veins of crystal, leading to the main crystal in his chest. These veins transfer energy from other gemstones or minerals to his main crystal, which allows him to travel through worlds and keep himself from being recalled to the Monolith.
Clothing
Chrystix generally wears a black jacket that he designed himself from the first world he visited, along with his gloves and shoes. He also wears glasses that were designed to help him identify valuable minerals and gemstones easier.
Accessories
Chrystix can expend energy from his chest crystal to create items if need be. He often defaults to a sword, however he can also create an arm cannon. If he charges his chest crystal enough he can create armoring across his body.
