I was outside working when I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye. I saw an osprey in a dogfight with a bald eagle. By the time I could get my camera ready, the eagle had landed in a dead tree and the osprey had flown away. I got close enough to the eagle to take a couple of good photos of it.
Thanks. This is a 40X photo. (That's the limit to the telephoto on my Canon camera.) I was about 75 to 100 yards away from the eagle. That was a close as I dared to get. I was afraid it would fly off if I got any closer. We have a bald eagle that visits where I work regularly. I'm guessing this is that one.

Actually, I do keep a camera with me all the time at work. It's part of my job. I even have 5 SD cards in case I need to change jobs in the middle of doing one.
We've never given the eagle a name mostly because we only see it perhaps 4 times a year but it is an awe-inspiring sight especially when I see it soaring relatively close to the ground.

I should be seeing a soaring eagle in the next few weeks. The ospreys are setting up housekeeping which means the eagles will be looking for opportunities to steal them a fish or two as the ospreys try to feed their families.
