It took a new year to get me to finish this October monthly reward for Starponys. I had embarked on a "winter of mathematics" in December, going all over the Mathematics Stack Exchange in preparation for the new semester at university, and it took me a while to get back my groove. After I finally got the first version down, I was reminded of an alternate version I still had to do, which I promptly did.
