Character Description
Umai is a full-blooded spirit who was once mortal. She works for Yatagarasu now as a go-between for Sir Kieron's secret Raven Knights and the criminal Shadow Dragon.
As a dreamkeeper, Umai has the power to enter folks' dreams to fight Morpheus's nightmare spirits. She can conjure instruments of Pure Light (enhanced by Yatagarasu's blessing) to bounce off drums, inspire companions, or blast her enemies with alt rock.

Background/History
Umai grew up in an abandoned house in North Lake with other stray wilders(ferals). The wilders of North Lake and Mount Stella were looked down upon as inferior minorities by the bipedal populace. Umai was a hardy and optimistic street pup who longed for equality with the anthros. She made her living by stealing from or tricking restaurants.
When she was 9, she met Everest of the Mount Stella wilder patrol, and they were each other's first crush. But when Umai was 12, a violent anti-wilder gang moved into town. The police didn't bother to stop them from killing wilders. One thug wielding a katana slashed Umai's eye and chased her down to kill her.
After she died, Umai was adopted by the Anima in charge of art and dreams(Terpsichore) and had been turned into a dreamkeeper spirit. (Btw spirits are monsters like goblins, fairies, and all other demons and angels). Umai's slashed eye remained blind as the encounter had left an inescapable impact on her psyche.
Umai wondered why she was the only dreamkeeper, but Terpsichore refused to explain what happened to the others before Umai. Umai eventually left Terpsichore's command and joined Yatagarasu the Guardian of Fate. Yatagarasu wanted to achieve Umai's goal of wilder equality and sent her to Lady Everest. Lady Everest, Mr. Grieves, and Umai fought with the anti-wilder gang of North Lake, and forced them out. Umai and Everest began dating again at this point.
